As I was cleaning out my photos on my iphone I came across these pictures of a nursery we did a year or so ago. I had forgotten how cute this classic little nursery turned out. I love when I look at work from a while back and still like it!
So true, Lauren. The story really was pretty funny.
This bedding was completely designed around a wonderful cream, black and red plaid fabric that was the companion to the stripe in the skirt. It was only after the whole room was designed that we realized that the plaid had been discontinued. Usually a discontinued fabric is no obstacle for us. Most discontinued fabrics can be found SOMEWHERE using the "internets". If not the exact fabric, we can usually find a really close substitution. This time, however, we found that any plaid that looks at all like the Burberry plaid gets a prompt letter from some big time Burberry lawyers telling you to cease and desist. It was a blow to our design but I think we made a pretty good recovery by railroading the stripe and adding the checked band. I'm not totally sure that I don't actually like this design better than the original. I guess we'll never know...
